1. Introduction

SportBusy LLC ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the SportBusy mobile application ("App") and website at sportbusy.com ("Site"). By using SportBusy, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

a) Account & Identity Data

When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and username. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive limited profile information (name and email) provided by those services. Authentication credentials are securely stored using device keychain and our authentication service.

b) App Preferences & Activity

We store the preferences you configure in the App, including: favorite teams and leagues, tracked games, home screen section order, league display order, notification preferences, and game view settings. We also assign each user a sequential membership number used to calculate your relative join position among SportBusy users. Some preferences are cached locally on your device using secure on-device storage.

c) Device & Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with the App, including: feature usage, screen views, session length, device type, operating system version, and app version. This data is collected via our analytics and performance monitoring services.

d) Crash & Diagnostic Data

If the App crashes or encounters an error, we collect diagnostic information including crash logs, device model, OS version, and the state of the App at the time of the crash, via our crash reporting service.

e) Advertising & Location Data

The App displays advertisements through our advertising partner. The advertising service may collect device advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS), approximate (coarse) location inferred from your IP address, and usage data for ad personalization and measurement, subject to your consent via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. If you decline tracking, you will receive non-personalized ads.

f) Push Notifications

If you grant permission, we collect a device push notification token to send you alerts about your favorite teams, live game updates, and app announcements. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings or within the App under notification preferences.

g) Website Data

On our website, we may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to understand visitor behavior and improve content. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Personalize your experience with relevant sports content, scores, and news
  • Deliver push notifications for teams and leagues you follow
  • Show advertisements (personalized or non-personalized based on your ATT choice)
  • Diagnose crashes and improve app stability
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve features and performance
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:

  • Authentication & Identity Services: We use third-party authentication providers to manage account creation and sign-in, including support for Apple Sign In and Google Sign In
  • Analytics & Crash Reporting Services: We use third-party services to collect usage analytics, performance metrics, and crash diagnostic data to improve the App
  • Advertising Services: We use a third-party advertising network to deliver ads within the App. This service may use device identifiers and approximate location for ad targeting and measurement
  • Backend Infrastructure Services: We use third-party cloud infrastructure providers to deliver sports data, game content, and event information. No personal user data is stored by these providers
  • Sports Data Providers: We license live scores, schedules, and statistics from third-party sports data providers. No personal user data is shared with these providers
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, or valid legal process

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Crash logs and analytics data are retained per our service providers' default retention settings (typically 90 days for crash data). Locally cached data on your device is managed by the App and can be cleared in App settings. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

6. Account Deletion

You can delete your SportBusy account directly within the App: tap the Profile tab (bottom right) → Profile & Security → scroll to the bottom → Delete Account. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, preferences, notification subscriptions, and associated data from our systems. Some anonymized analytics data may be retained in aggregate.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and personal data
  • Opt out of personalized advertising (via the ATT prompt or device settings)
  • Receive a copy of your data (data portability)
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (EU/EEA users)

8. Children's Privacy

SportBusy is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at admin@sportbusy.com and we will promptly delete it.

9. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including: encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), security rules restricting data access to authenticated users, rules preventing unauthorized reads and writes, device keychain for secure credential storage, and on-device encrypted storage for cached data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

10. Third-Party Links

The App and Site may contain links to third-party websites, articles, or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to review their policies.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify users via the App or email.
